A rustic wedding at Gate Street Barn

On Saturday 8th April 2023 we were booked to play at Gate Street Barn in Guildford for the wedding of the lovely Mr and Mrs “D”.

Gate Street Barn is one that we have played at a few times and are due to go back over the coming year, as you can see from the above image, it is a beautiful barn and is about as rustic as it could get, so booking us, with our wooden booths was a must for this couple.

We had our usual phone chat with the couple two weeks before the wedding and were given some guidance on the music that they were looking for. We were told that they love Motown, Disco, 90s/00s pop, Abba and commercial/pop house.

This, for us, was an easy playlist to fill, I knew that we had hundreds of absolute bangers to play that fit these genres.

On the night, we arrived in plenty of time, and whilst setting up, met the lovely Lauren Henson, a London wedding photographer who I must say, captured some great dancefloor moments:

The first dance was Lovely Day by the amazing Bill Withers. One of my favourite songs whilst growing up!

The groom and his family were Scottish, so I took the opportunity to chuck in a few Scottish classics which went down really well.

The rest of the night went down exactly as the bride and groom had asked and some serious shapes were thrown.

The bride, Groom and all the guests had an amazing time (I think this is clear from their faces in the above images!)

Another successful wedding at Gate Street Barn…
